New Moon 10’55″ Aquarius = 30th Jan UT – 9:39 pm
Dom Cobb: What is the most resilient parasite? A bacteria? A virus? An intestinal worm?
Arthur: Ah, what Mr Cobb is trying to…
Dom Cobb: An idea. Resilient, highly contagious. Once an idea has taken hold of the brain it’s almost impossible to irradiate. An idea that is fully formed, fully understood. That sticks, right in there somewhere. [he points to his head]
Inception (movie), 2010
In 1713, the Irish bishop, George Berkeley, penned a powerful essay, Three Dialogues between Hylas and Philonous, defending the notion that everything you know is known only through your perception as an idea, a concept central to the Greek philosophy of idealism. Some three hundred and one years later his polemic has yet to be refuted. As an Anglo-Irish Piscean born Protestant, Berkeley, I am sure, would be dismayed to discover that his work was merely reinforcing the Egyptio-Babylonian cosmology, syncretically absorbed into the Hellenistic world – the reason why humans can think for themselves and define their own realities is because of the existence of the sign of Fixed Air, Aquarius!!
Berkeley mirrored the pagan notion that because of the existence of Internalised Thought (Fixed Air), an independently objectively experienced external material world does not exist. Your awareness of the outside world comes to you through subjective experience and only subjective experience.
Having said that, our history is replete of another Fixed Air expression – highly contagious thought that– which have shaped our perception of reality, some of which have continued to maintain a vice grip over our way of thinking, whilst others have been outlived and subsequently ridiculed by an intellectual ‘elitism’.
I am sure that you have heard of Darwin’s theory of evolution; Copernicus’ Heliocentric Model of the Solar System; the Greeks concept of Democracy; Marx’s Communism; Einstein’s Theory of Relativity; Adam Smith’s The Wealth of Nations; Freud’s Theory of the Unconscious; Ignaz Semmelweis’s use of soap in medical situations; Isaac Newton’s gravity; Leonardo Fibonacci’s use of Zero in Liber Abaci; Tim Berners-Lee World Wide Web and Mary Wollstonecraft’s On the Vindication of the Rights of Women. Each are ideals that have shaped our current view of the world. But please spare a thought for the Greek’s Theory of Spontaneous Generation, Celestial Immutability, Emission Theory and The Four Humours as well as widespread practise of Bloodletting that only ceded ground after two thousand years usage in the eighteenth century. Each of those latter concepts were at one time extremely influential and widely accepted by academics and lay people alike, forming the basis for many subsequent ideas, all of which have been ultimately superseded and discarded.
Those powerful thought forms lie embedded within a cultural milieu that filters, distils and shapes what we perceive as our reality. If you factor in the additional religious ideals and the highly individual energetic pathways imbued in the fabric of your being at the time you incarnated within this plane of existence this time around, it is no wonder that we find it hard to think for ourselves!!
The prevailing education system trains us to perceive reality in a certain way, ridiculing other ways of thinking as being superstitious, quaint or irrelevant. In contemporary Ireland only “facts” which can be observed and explained through the logical positivist methodology, that are economically viable and perpetuate the hierarchical socio-economic system are valid and worthy of dissemination. In other words logical, detached thought dominates over subjective experience and perception or in the words of Morpheus:
“You take the blue pill and the story ends. You wake in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. (a red pill is shown in his other hand) You take the red pill and you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes. (Long pause; Neo begins to reach for the red pill) Remember — all I am offering is the truth, nothing more.”
The Matrix, written by Andy Wachowski & Larry Wachowski
The desire to suppress ingesting the red pill is not merely the property of secular world. Religious traditions also have disdain for self-reflective thought or Gnosis, a particularly sensitive issue for the astrological community. Aside from the conduct of certain astrologers and their socio-political ambitions, one of the reasons why astrology has been debased and ridiculed is because of its highly subjective and individualistic philosophy that ultimately encourages a deep self-reflection and empowerment through a personal relationship with the gOd-realm
Fortunately you do not need to ingest the red pill to see through the Matrix. Because of the existence of Fixed Air, not only can you think for yourself but you also have the ability to anchor those ideals within your soul; to hold stedfast those truths that resonate for whatever soul reason; and to question the origin of where those thoughts arise.
Every year, from the 20th January through to the 19th February as the Sun traverses on its imagined path around the signs of the zodiac, the Earth Realm enters a phase that prompts awareness of the persistency of thought.
As the Dark of the Capricorn Lunar Cycle wanes and we feel the dawn of the Aquarian cycle, I would like you to take a moment to reflect on any ideas, thoughts or emotional thought forms that exist unaltered within you. Perhaps you can start with the negative thought forms such as I’m not good enough; I’m not worthy; I’m too busy; I should/ I could/ I ought to. Those thoughts create their own reality and since we reside within a world that will eagerly support those lower vibrational entities, it is not hard to see how virulent those negating concepts are within each of us. Those thoughts are encouraged because they keep you trapped and keep you conformed within a consensus reality.
Aside from your psycho-spiritual complexes that form attractors, drawing into your Field people, ideas and circumstances that ‘help’ you on your soul journey, your opinions are reinforced by ‘supportive’ opinions originating from those who makes sense to you; who ‘appear’ to have worked through their stuff or who have wisdom; or who ‘appear’ articulate or brilliant.
The existence of Fixed Air means that your own opinion is as equally valid as anyone else’s. If you recognise that everyone, no matter how luminous they may appear to be, is here on Earth and on a journey of self-discovery, learning and experience. As such we all have underlying scripts we are attempting to heal, transform and move to a less unconscious relationship with (a higher vibrational perspective), and that that psycho-spiritual process drives our choices, perspective and understanding, moulding our egoic mind and shapes the why and who in our life.
Consequently it is important to choose wisely who you listen to; who you read; who you allow ‘infect’ your emotional-mind-space!! Imagine what your world would be like if you stripped away the layers of external thought forms that influence your reality and focused only on what you truly think and believe!
As the solar vibration turns inwards (fixed) upon your own thoughts (air), it would be useful to pause and reflect upon the nature of the persistent thoughts that underlie your actions. Do those thoughts originate from a positive and conscious place? Are they influenced by some external factor – like your parents; your culture; your gender; your age; your education? What purpose are they serving you?
During this Aquarian New Moon I would love you to take the time to reflect on:
- Understanding the ideals that have moulded and shaped your mind
- Understanding who has moulded and shaped your mind
- To ask yourself – what are the underlying scripts that have shaped and influenced your thoughts
- To develop confidence in your perception and perspective
- The idea or ideal you want to infuse into your very being and subsequently the very essence of the cosmos.
