Monday 29th at 9:46pm UT.
A few different versions for the timing of this Grand sextile exist around the web. I have picked the time for when the Moon in Taurus, completes a Grand Trine with Pluto and Venus all in Earth signs. Crossing this is the already formed grand trine between, Neptune, Saturn and now more directly Black Moon Lilith(Mean Node), asteroid Pallas Athena and Jupiter. The orb of influence for this grand sextile could be seen to exist from the time the Moon enters Taurus, till when it is at about 16 degrees Taurus. Moon enters Taurus at 4:45 am 29th July UT and is at 16 Taurus, 30 hours later. Another timing for this line up is when the Moon is at the midpoint between Neptune and Jupiter, when at 5-6 Taurus from about 2pm UT 29th July. Either way it is activated for at least a day.
The six pointed star created by two grand trines makes a hexagram shape around the zodiac, known as a grand sextile, with a planet occupying a place every 60 degrees(or within a few degrees). The two equilateral triangles represent balance and harmony. One points up and one points down. In traditions of magic and alchemy the upward triangle represented a connection to heaven or the divine and the downward pointing triangle, to Earth, the manifestation of divine purpose. Here we have a representation of Heaven and Earth combining, cosmic law being absorbed by humanity. In hermetic traditions the hexagram represented the seven ancient planets, with the Sun in the middle and the six points assigned to the visible planets – Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. As planetary forces are harmonized at this time and when we consider the planets involved in this particular sextile a powerful image comes to mind and is strongly felt.
As the sextile forms we find the form of one of the most magical and ancient representations of sacred geometry, depicting space and time as the seed of life, the neverending Flower of Life. In the pictures below the beauty and symmetry of the Flower of Life is beyond compare as the many variations show. For those of us into meditation, and are good at it, the Merkaba meditation stems from this flower of life. In the Merkaba meditation, one is taught to focus on two triangles, four sided, making up a tetrahedron pyramid, where the two pyramids spin in opposite directions. In doing so one grounds us and the other connects us to the heavenly plane. Powerful and worth practicing. There are many version on You Tube for you to have a look at and try to activate during this time.
All is not, however as grand as it seems, as two T-squares also form at this time. In astrological outlooks we can’t ignore what else is going on, as is so often done in many Pop type astrology writings. At this time one T-Square exists between Pluto, Mars and Uranus. Another between Moon, Saturn and Sun. The Moon and Sun in square shine light on difficult times, connected to Saturn, tough times, times that are confirming much for us at the moment. We are not just floating away with all this water energy, blissfully experiencing life, but more so concerned about what we may be missing out on. What we are experiencing is all very real and deeply felt, yet also feels like we are staged in a soap opera as things seem bigger than ever, overwhelming. It even seems as though everything is happening in slow motion, as we take our time making decisions, taking time to absorb it all, with many undercurrents flowing in and around us. Yet we manage to stand firm and really can’t budge on what we know is the way to go, we are stubborn about what we want to make happen and are prepared for anything, really!
We’ve learnt to be prepared for anything, as we’ve been living through Pluto and Uranus squares of late and lately the cardinal impact from Cancer, we’ve been targeted at the source and at what truly makes us tick. Things aren’t what they were and never will be the same again. Change and adapting is our new mantra and these life changing opportunities are what we must embrace to make the most of it.
As this grand sextile forms and culminates, we are given a rare moment when all the feminine signs of the zodiac are represented, not by asteroids, nodes, or points, but Planets (Pluto a dwarf planet- but we know he is still BIG), and the Moon, not a planet, but our earthly satellite and closest ally. The Feminine power of Water and Earth, representing the givers of life, the nurturers, the carers, the lovers, the creators bring with them a combination of being able to mould and shape what is most important to us, what gives us sustenance and provides a loving, secure and creative environment for future growth and prosperity. To prosper involves the letting go of much of the past, the expectations of what was, as Pluto’s transformative symbol rides the top of the wave in Capricorn and Saturn in Scorpio reminds us of the phoenix and the rising up of something better and more worthwhile.
Consider too how many oppositions we are face with at this time. Moon opposite Saturn, representing the extremes of nurturing life and facing the death of something at the same time. Jupiter opposite Pluto, its like a judgement day, facing up to and living out our inner truth. Venus opposite Neptune, how I wish for all to be better.
A look at all individual placements helps to tease out the combinations.
Jupiter, Pallas and Black Moon Lilith in Cancer – a powerful and passionate threesome of truth and strategy , help us to source and make judgements with what we know rides true in our hearts.
Venus in Virgo – Venus becomes discriminating trine Pluto, making sure nothing too superfluous and unnecessary flows through, it only complicates things.
Saturn in Scorpio – it’s been a tough journey already, but at only 4 degrees of Scorpio there is a long way to go, patient steps required.
Pluto in Capricorn – getting a bit of a kick right now, we will notice some shifts, mostly in our attitude to things and letting go of expectations and what was supposed to be.
Neptune in Pisces – who hasn’t been having vivid dreams of late? They will be telling us much about what we don’t understand right now, and even telling us how to put it all together. Remember dreams can reveal so much if we let them. Take the time to nurture, listen and decipher what they say or show.
The Moon in Taurus is the secret ingredient, that makes all possible, perfect in Taurus and manifesting this grand sextile. In the hours surrounding this grand sextile, take some time out of your busy life for some ritual and magic, as Taurus is a a great symbol of grounding and manifesting the sacred geometry of our own lives. Find a special place outside and physically embed something sacred to you into the Earth, it could be a stone, a jewel, something you’ve made, a coin, physically/symbolically plant your intentions.. Then give them some water.
Set your intention for the the sacred geometry of your life to come together and take form, watch it happen in your mind and thoughts, feel it, honor every segment – family, work, love, creativity, connection, the earth. And while you are there, set one for the collective.
The beehive is a perfect representation of the strength and harmony of a six sided structure, a six sided structure that supports many, is practical, has the essence of life and healing “Honey” flowing through it, a physical, living, breathing representation of the Flower of Life. Bee inspired by bees at this time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5rWmGe0HBI
