“so we’d best do something about it!”
At the Capricorn ingress, the Sun returns to the most elevated position in the natural zodiac. It is at this time of year that we reflect on a year past, our achievements and accomplishment, we come together with those nearest and dearest and we give thanks for what we have. Capricorn represents all of this, achievements, our aspirations and honoring who we are in this world, like the Cornucopia attributed to the Sea Goat we honour life’s bounty. When we translate this onto a global scale we consider humanities best achievements, what we strive for collectively and perhaps the meaning of humanity living to his fullest potential. Are we a global society doing the best we can to make everything work at it’s best for the good all men and the planet? Well, no, and it seems we are far from that in many ways, yet it’s a good time of the year and a good time in history, 21 Dec 2012, to consider why not and make sure we do more about it as responsible global citizens.
Capricorn in Mundane Astrology represents authority and institutions which we put in place to govern society. These institutions, governments etc that are supposed to help it all work according to what we consider, the best or the right plan. As we know the framework and structure that has been built for us over the years is now up for considerable review as it seems we are being governed by corporations, wealth and power. It is not surprising really, as society has deemed progress, wealth and domination as the ultimate goal for so long, no wonder it rules our world. As Pluto in Capricorn is now here, it is here to slowly transform our collective aspirations, our conscious evolution does not support these paradigms anymore. We review what we stand for, who we stand by, as concerned citizens we are here to develop a plan that is worth building up again. This is where we find ourselves at the end of 2012, so much has been revealed and there is so much more to go, as Pluto continues to evolve through Capricorn and Uranus actively yanks at anything that resembles going back to the same old way.
It’s not the end of the world, but a damned good time to set our intentions, goals and plans for a more enlightened way forward. A renewal of respect for our Mother Earth, each other and a renewal of the the aspirations that will ultimately guide the system. We want change on so many levels and we look forward to implementing the many things we raise our voices about. The promises of global enlightenment won’t come overnight, but we can all help by spreading the light at this Solstice as we contemplate the meaning of Capricorn and what we have established or need to re-establish in this world.

At a Solstice we celebrate the light of the Sun, its’ power and its’ life giving quality, it is our original representation of God, it is consciousness, it represents global consciousness. The reflector of this potent light, the Moon represents the way this source is captured, when we see and sense it in its many phases, the Moon’s light helps us to make sense of our evolution, daily, weekly, monthly. The Moon at this special solstice is in Aries. Fitting for new beginnings, forging on, leading the way and venturing out to new unexplored lands and experiences. We already have a seed and now we want to make sure that it is given life and will survive. We have a seed infused with intention, germinating into a better, fairer, and smarter way. It is a chance and a message to lighten up in so many ways, considering our own carbon footprint, for a warrior and his spirit doesn’t suit baggage, nor too many supplies, being weighed down doesn’t help us lighten up.
This First quarter Aries Moon attaches to Mercury in Sagittarius, fresh young and eager in the morning light. Together they make plans for adventure with far reaching vision, the big picture is attended to. Mercury is challenged in Sagittarius, preferring attention to detail than big picture scenarios and follows the Moon’s lead instead, for now it’s best to stick with the big picture and the details will follow, there aren’t many answers yet, just directions, plans and visions. To add to this scenario father Zeus, Jupiter (Mercury’s Dad) is in Gemini as he has been since June this year. They hold court in each others signs, as though teaching each other a lesson. Jupiter in Gemini has been challenged to get back to the nitty gritty and make sense of the many issues facing us, focus on details and necessary information, instead of just hell bent on constant expansion, growth and wealth building, it seems it’s not the way to move forward right now. First we need to ensure that some important new ideas are put in place before doing so. Jupiter and Mercury conspire to play with our minds and our beliefs at this time and very much suit the attention being given to the global shift in consciousness at this Solstice. All in all it represents a great reprogramming of our beliefs and ingrained attitudes, we are being made to see differently, change our minds, question truth and what’s possible.
As Jupiter would generally help guide our way forward, at the moment it is caught up in the infamous YOD, with Pluto and Saturn pointing their beams directly at him. From 8 degrees of Capricorn, Pluto, representing global transformation and evolution, and Saturn from 8 Scorpio, representing authority and structure are now going through the grinder as both open up the dark, the hidden and the underworld in our governing systems. Both point to Jupiter rx in Gemini and where and how truth, information, misinformation, hype and hyperbole fit into it all of this. Exposing, targeting, uploading, downloading, imploding and exploding everything onto Jupiter . We only need a good dose of truth and justice to be established so the system can work better. Ha sure, easier to say than do, yet this is the most important issue about moving ourselves into a better place as for now Jupiter is the target.

To add to the intensity and importance of Judgement at this time, the Black Moon Lilith still hangs close by Jupiter and more is uncovered for us. Many resentments to wrongs being done or having been done continue to rise and surface and we can expect this to continue, the difference now is that the brewing resentment has festered far too long. The two together have done great work in exposing truth in many ways during 2012 exposing corrupt media agendas and the exposure of pedophilia around the globe. They will meet again in July 2013, then not again till 2047 and seem quite significant as they take us into the new world.

To add to decoding Jupiter(and the black Moon’s agenda) Venus opposes him from righteous Sagittarius, giving Jupiter a taste of his own medicine, as she works towards being wild and free. In trine to Uranus and square to Chiron as well, freedom issues are accentuated and authenticity is demanded giving us all a boost to invite and create more freedom in our lives, needing very much to follow our own truth. Chiron, however gives Venus a bit of a limp, as all is not perfect in our world and Venus can see and sense that from universes away. Chiron helps us all to move a bit more cautiously at the moment, as being over optimistic, or moving too fast, can cause accidents or make us lose our way. Proceeding with caution from this point is a good idea, as leaping into new projects, could be dangerous. New ways, for instance like Thermal engineering(tweaking the climate), being a good example, may sound great to some, but we are not aware of the consequences yet. I went to find a link to Thermal Engineering and even Wikipedia is waiting for someone to explain it, perfect, for what I’ve written here. So much is trying to be done or developed to save ourselves from ourselves yet its not necessarily a good thing and could even make some things worse. The square between Chiron and Venus also makes a T-square with Jupiter, targeted by so much lately and rightly so, as it is important to watch the steps we take about moving forward.
Much can be added to a world in pain with Venus square Chiron and Chiron square Jupiter and all the other aspects that stem from these three giving us a picture of a world needing much adjustment. In a world of Austerity measures, which have been handed down to the people that never created the problem of overspending or overcapitalizing in the first place, yet are made to suffer for it, is an example of somehow needing to work out are ways in which we don’t play the game anymore. Here, we are reminded of being in Pluto’s realm, Hades and to stop eating what that they feed us or we will stay forever, in Hell. How to do that exactly is the question and will take time to work out ways to be able to do that, but we are onto it! Issues abound, but some could be easily solved and is totally frustrating for many of us. So much public outrage has been generated and will continue to be so until we see more done to our liking. For example the legalization of recreational drugs and the rights for Gay marriage. In Portugal the legalization of marijuana has helped enormously to sort out problems, where addiction is treated as a health issue. As we know not all drug users are addicts, just like not all who drink alcohol are alcoholics. Yet drug cartels, rogue nations and terrorist financiers move billions of dollars through the international and U.S. banking systems and they get away with it, when the possession of drugs will put you in jail in some places. And in this day and age who has the right to tell people who they can or can’t marry? When are our rules, conditions and standards going to catch up with what we know is already right?
Ceres opposes the Solstice Sun from Gemini, the dwarf planet associated with democracy, strikes, food supply and the flourishing of the natural world, speaks out. From Gemini Ceres makes a connection to Mars and the North Node by inconjunct creating another YOD. Can what Ceres stand for be taken seriously by those that govern and make decisions on behalf of all of us, paying more attention to who owns the Earth and it’s resources. The difficult aspects show the difficultly in implementing changes to the system, and the difficultly for change comes from stubbornness of the wealthy and powerful keeping their greedy claws on the prize, represented by Mars in Capricorn ruling Scorpio which holds the Dragon’s head.
With Neptune at zero Pisces for this solstice sextile the Capricorn Sun we infuse our souls with inspiration and hope. When we find ourselves in times of crisis incredible things can happen and we refuse to give up on fueling a world full of peace, love. and justice. Neptune/ Sun, collective consciousness is the positive power we need that can help change the world for the better. If we see this Solstice chart as symbolic of the birth of a new world, of a new beginning, as this Solstice date represents to many already, then it is this hope, belief and intention for a better world that will eventually help us move to a more enlightened existence as we work out ways to get there. Setting our collective intentions is a power in which we need to believe will make the difference, as we upgrade the standards being set in the world at large during this very significant Capricorn Solstice.
